Some Pointers on How to Keep You and Your Bike Safe

Friday, January 29th, 2010

Biking is a fantastic means to improve your health, save money, while assisting in keeping the air clean and unpolluted. Biking doesn’t injure your joints in ways that jogging and working out in the gym can. It’s also practical as one can get exercise by riding to the shops, or to the workplace, so you don’t have to to set time aside for working out as almost all other varieties of work out impose on your schedule.

But what variety of cycle to buy? One that’s comfortable for you as you’re biking, and has a good number of gears to enable you to take on inclines with relative comfort – after all, not everyone lives in Cambridge! One should also be able to pick up your bike with comparative comfort as you’ll find yourself needing to do so from time to time, for example up a few stairs. Claud Butler urban bikes are a good range of bikes to start looking at.

In addition, ensure you have enough add-ons for your bike : front and back light, a pump, reflector lights, reflective jacket, mudguards, helmet and strong lock. Such bike accessories assist you in keeping safe in bad light, and your bicycle out of reach from robbery. Make sure you lockup the bicycle in a reasonably open area.

And finally, it’s a useful idea to invest a bit of time into how to fix your bicycle. You don’t need to be an expert, but it’s handy if you can learn how to set the brake pads and brake cables as these frequently need fine-tuning after use. And make sure you keep the bicycle well lubricated with oil and the tyres pumped up to a reasonable pressure to make it that much easier to actually ride.. And it almost goes without saying, have good road sense – use your arms to indicate while turning, and keep to the left-handside at all times.

And of course, have good road sense – use your arms to indicate when turning, and stay on the left-handside on all roads.

Being all locked up in a house as a kid is no fun, at all! When you are a kid you want to get outside and unleash all of that energy that you have. Wouldn’t it be nice if that amount of energy lasted through the whole life span? If you are experiencing low energy and are older, you might want to consider taking a capsule for more energy. There is nothing wrong with more energy, just as long as it is during the right time of day.

Kids that first learn how to ride bikes have it made. They get out of the house and can ride around and finally explore the world a bit all on their own. It is like a little taste of freedom that they have been waiting to get for a long time. It is basically the gateway to freedom, and the next thing that follows the bike is the car, the ultimate freedom machine. Bikes are not easy to learn how to ride, kids might need to use training wheels for a while, and this can be a very positive thing. Later they can view the drivers permit as the training wheels for their bike. Kids should have daily bike riding time because of all of the many positive side effects.
